Hello friends! As I'm sure you've noticed, this post is coming on a Saturday instead of a Sunday (what, you didn't notice the pattern after three whole posts?!)! Because I am a Type A psycho, I've decided that this works better with my posting schedule, which I may or may not have already created through this month. So, there ya go, Obsessing Over posts are officially Saturday things now. You have all weekend to read them! You're welcome.
On a totally different note, my mom and I are hosting a bridal shower today for my childhood best friend Sam and I am so excited! We're doing an "around the clock" theme - have you ever heard of that? Basically, each invitee is assigned a time of day, and the gift they bring should have something to do with that time. For example, I got 2 pm, so I'm going to do "naptime" and am getting her the most amazing (faux, duh) fur blanket from Restoration Hardware. I got it for Tim for Christmas a couple years ago and was SO excited when we moved in together because it meant that I would have access to the blanket 24/7 (and, ya know, also because I like him). Such a fun and unique idea - I can't wait to see what everyone else brings! Speaking of fun, here's what I'm loving this week:
Mario Batali's Guide to 10 Italian Cured Meats. If there's a charcuterie on a menu, I'm ordering it. That said, I usually have no idea what anything is besides prosciutto. This is going to come in prettttty handy for all my cured meat needs.
This guide for working with a home contractor. I've have major homeownership envy since my good friends bought their first condo together, but I also watched them deal with major stress choosing a contractor. It's too late for them to use these tips but they might come in handy for other new homeowners!
These tips for packing snacks on a long flight. I wish I had had this for my flight to New Zealand, but my best friend is moving to Australia in the next couple months, so Brooke, this one's for you (and all my other world travelers!).
5 things this author learned when she got a puppy. I have puppy fever that I probably won't be able to do anything about for another couple years, so instead I'll just spend all my free time reading about dogs and looking at them on Petfinder.
This list of gift ideas. I kind of love the Palo Santo wood idea (/anything that smells nice), so friends with gift-receiving occasions coming up, get ready.
