You guys, I'm SO upset. I was so proud of myself for getting almost all of my Christmas shopping done super early this year, and now I'm SO MAD because the #1 most perfect gift is on super crazy sale and I have no one to give it to! If you only buy one thing this Black Friday, it should be the Instant Pot. I've mentioned it before, but it is easily the most used kitchen tool in my home. It has SEVEN functions: pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, saute/browning (so you don't have to brown anything in a separate pan, yay!) yogurt maker, steamer, and warmer. I love to start it, run out to the gym or to do errands, and come home to a perfect meal ready to go. It's usually $130, and today it's only $69! Trust me - this is the best kitchen investment you could possibly make!Read More
Hi everyone! I am so so excited to share our big news with you: Tim and I are engaged!!! We could not be happier and are so grateful for all of the love and support we've been showered with this week. I feel so lucky to be marrying someone who makes me laugh every day.
If you're a sappy wedding lover like myself, read on. Otherwise, goodbye and check in for new recipes in a few days - this post is probably not your jam :)Read More
After a few stress-filled weeks wondering how we'd manage to pack while traveling every weekend and having plans most nights after work, we've officially moved! I'm so relieved to be done and unpacked, and I am OBSESSED with the new place. I haven't had a chance to cook in the kitchen yet, but I'm already plotting out all the new meals I'll be able to make and the new recipes I'll publish - it's been way too long! While I plan my upcoming meals, check out some other awesome stuff:Read More
I am so excited to share some big news in the CKDC world - we're upgrading to a bigger kitchen! We had no plans to move any time soon, but, as I do when I'm bored, I was checking out Padmapper to scope out the available apartments in our area and found this gorgeous kitchen. I loved it so much I sent the inquiry email before I even saw the rest of the photos! The rooftop pool doesn't hurt either.... But don't worry, CKDC will be just as chaotic - I'm afraid the tiny kitchen was only a small part of that equation! Check out some of the other things I'm obsessed with this week:Read More
Hello friends! I've been very very bad about doing these posts but I'm BACK! Poll: do you prefer a short week that has a Friday off or a Monday off? I'm all for Mondays off, as you get to look forward to the long weekend all week and then you get rewarded after the long weekend with a short week! I think this might be a leftover from my time as a teacher, when I had a countdown to all my short weeks - February and March were the WORST for days off.
I hope your Fourth of July's were as great as mine (well, the weekend leading up to it - the Fourth itself was rainy and gross). Almost my entire extended family went to Rehoboth under the guise of celebrating the holiday... but really, we were there to celebrate my cousin's engagement! Hunter got the whole family together for a celebration with champagne and sparklers after he proposed to his now-fiancée Kelli on the beach! It was so fun and we were all so excited to be a part of the event. Congratulations, Hunter and Kelli!Read More
